Illustration for Malta Book Festival 2020 - Virtual Edition

For this event I worked hand-in-hand with Steven Scicluna, who provided all the design work for the festival.

The idea for the illustration was to have several classic book characters combined into one image.

After I sketched the idea, this was outlined by Mark Scicluna as we wanted the style to be similar to Dr.Seuss’

I then came up with two coloured versions but using the same palette

The illustration was included on the main event poster.

Because it was made up of several characters, the designer could include individual characters in other banners and editorials.

This year the festival was virtual due to Covid

The National Book Council decided to create a set to launch events online. For this set I illustrated various props that were printed out in large-scale.
